Vape/E-liquid companies (and many other companies!), are constantly promoting their products through giveaways via social media. I can't make any guaruntees, but I can share some tips and tricks that have scored me multiple wins through instagram.
After winning a total of 8 giveaways in the past three months, my friends and family started asking me what was up. How could I have been randomly selected out of hundreds of people eight times within three months? Truth be told, I play with my luck a little more than simply re-posting and hoping for a win.
How Instagram/Social Media Giveaways work:
Typically the person/brand holding the giveaway will ask you to re-post a specific photo, tag some friends, and add a hashtag (#). It's a super simple task.
How to Better Your Chances:
First things first, make sure your Instagram account is public! While these giveaways are supposed to be randomly selected without any bias, and it shouldn't matter if you're a private page, a lot of the time this isn't the case. Plus, if it's a repost contest, they won't even be able to see your entry if you're on private.
Post related content. If you're trying to win a vape giveaway, you should probably have something about vaping in your bio or displayed in your feed/photos. The host of the giveaway wants their prize to go to someone who will actually enjoy the use of their product, and showing that your content relates to them is a huge bonus point.
Have a healthy amount of followers. I'm not saying that if you only have 20 followers you can't win, but it's more probable to win if your page seems like it gets a lot of views. Having at least 100-200+ followers shows that you are an active page, (the more followers you have, the more likely you are to be noticed).
Do not make a giveaway account! A giveaway account is an account that was purely created to enter in giveaways. A lot of giveaway descriptions even make sure to write "No Giveaway Accounts". It doesn't look right if they click on your page and see a huge list of other giveaways you've entered, and while you think it's increasing your chances to win something, it's actually hurting them.
The most important tip: Be an active follower! Once you've entered the giveaway, make your presence known. Comment on their photos that start popping up on your main-feed, like their pictures randomly. However, do not spam their page all in one go. Spread your comments and likes out. Instead of going through and liking every single picture on their page right after entering their contest, (they will forget about you right after), spread it out to liking maybe 4 pictures a day, or commenting on a couple random photos a day until they announce the winner. It shows that you're constantly looking at their page and helps them get used to seeing your name on their notification list. Once they start remembering you, they may be more likely to "randomly" choose you from a list of other entries because the username is familiar.
Prompting yourself to win future giveaways:
If you've officially won a giveaway, be sure to post a 'thank you'! Taking photos of the things you've won may sound like you're bragging, but it's going to benefit you if you try to enter future contests. The company/brand/person behind the giveaway wants to know that you're going to help promote them if you win, (that's usually the entire reason people give things away online!). If they happen to browse your page and notice that you've taken photos of or promoted a product on your page in the past, they may assume that you would do the same for them, and you should.
This may sound like you're turning into a giveaway account! As long as you're not spamming constant product promotions, and continue posting things related to what you'd usually post, you're good.
